My name is DeAndre Roberts and I am the National Youth Secretary for Youth Pride Services. If you’d like more information on the organization follow this link or send me a message http://www.youthprideservices.com

This year we’re doing a campaign called “Year for (You)th” which is a sub product of our National Strategy for Black Gay Youth in America. Here’s an overview of what that is:

The aim of Year for (You)th is to improve the quality of the lives of black gay youth living in the United States by organizing those 25 years of age and younger (alongside elected officials and youth serving agencies), who want to take part in positive activities and gain support that will improve their condition of life, to help develop and improve their physical (health), mental, emotional, social and educational well being.

One of the ways we are accomplishing the above overview is by conducting a National Survey of black gay youth ages 26 years and younger. This survey asks ten questions that will begin to give us an idea of what it is like to grow up being black, gay, and young in today’s society. The survey is 100% anonymous asking only for your email. The reason we ask for your email is because in the future we may send out another survey with more questions to strengthen our research.

Once we have collected all the data we need (2500+ survey responses) we will be compiling it into a report that will be delivered to the White House. In this report we will present our findings, any trends we have noticed, and a list of factors affecting our youth. This purpose of this report is to of course inform the administration of our community’s needs, but also to serve as a benchmark for what we expect in the future. It will tell them what is wrong, how to fix it, and how to prevent it.

If you would like more information before taking the survey feel free to send me a message or ask any questions on here. I will be glad to answer them so that you can have a better understanding of what you’re contributing to.

For those who take the survey we greatly appreciate your help. Our goal is to have 2500 responses by the end of March and your contribution is needed. For those who don’t, thank you for taking the time to read and I hope you change your mind and help contribute to the change that’s coming.

ONCE YOU HAVE TAKEN THE SURVEY PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS SO WE CAN GET THE WORD OUT!
