I live in a very conservative neighborhood and I was shocked that my school even considered letting us start a GSA (gay\straight alliance).
My friend and I have wanted to do something about the ignorance and intolerance at our school, but it wasn’t until I joined Ohio Advocates that I got the resources and support that I needed to get started. We went straight to our principal, who was surprisingly supportive and, within about a month, our GSA was up and running. We just had our first meeting and it was a git. We are so lucky to have this program.
