The #FeminismIsForTeenMomsToo hashtag was created to both raise awareness and stimulate a much-needed dialogue on the shame and stigma of being a teen mom in our current society. I’ve been swept away, pushed aside, and disregarded as a teen mom and my many issues of concern have been entirely excluded from the mainstream feminist movement.
While the hashtag made over 900K impressions, I can barely see through the fog of negativity that we, as teen moms, must navigate through. Is my life going to be spent trying to convince …

The teen pregnancy prevention [read: teen mom shaming] ads making headlines in New York City are offensive and are a part of a system that consistently degrades teen moms. What these public service announcements promote is a continuation of the unfair treatment of the young women who need support. It enables those who have personal agendas against teen moms to effectively use their disapproval to make their lives MUCH harder than it needs to be.

The hardest part of being a victim of date rape is that you do not remember anything that happened. You may not …

Are women and men truly from different planets? When we all landed on Earth, did we just inhibit a different sense of outlook on sexual relations?
Men who have multiple sex partners get high-fives from their friends. Women who have multiple sex partners are named trashy and other unmentionables.
So, here we are facing the double standard that we have been trying to eliminate for decades. I guess it all takes time. Up until a few years ago, divorced women were frowned upon and that changed quickly.
I get …

- Television: I banned televisions two years ago. No public channels, no kids channels, and no cartoon channels. Why? Although some of these cartoons and kids shows are "safe" for children, they may display messages that I don’t agree with. Also, commercials aren’t always screened
